WSB has many teams that advise and guide clients on how to invest in renewable energy and meet sustainability goals, and WSB wants that same work reflected in our own spaces and places.
At WSB’s office in Burnsville, Minnesota, we are investing in renewable energy tools that will help increase efficiencies, reduce energy use, and meet our organization’s goals to build a more sustainable future. This facility has allowed us to test out pilot projects and initiatives that align with WSB’s corporate sustainability plan.
WSB’s Burnsville solar project included the installation of 115 solar panels on the roof of the facility. From ideation to completion, the project took less than a year and was up and running by August 2022. The panels will provide approximately 63,000 kWh of energy – what does that mean? For a facility that size, the new solar panels are projected to save over $200,000 in electric utility costs over the next two decades. What’s more, in just its first month up and running, the panels reduced CO2 emissions by 13,000 pounds which is equivalent to planting 100 trees.
Sustainable energy investments provide both significant financial and environmental benefits, and WSB will continue to implement operational changes to build a more sustainable future for all.
