The Catalina II Solar Project, located in Kern County, was part of a 20-year power purchase agreement aimed to generate 1.3 GW of clean energy for the state of California. WSB was contracted to provide ALTA Survey and verification services, as well as obtain and review all title work for the wind project. The information collected was used to locate monuments, section corners and survey significant features within the project area. The surveys were used to identify all land parcels, rights of way, gas lines, oil wells, occupied homes, underground fiber optics, fence lines, etc. They also identified setbacks from existing or planned wind projects nearby, and any other features significant to the project. An overall site plan, including all the items shown in the ALTA survey and major easements was provided to the client in a suitable electronic format.
