The city of Falcon Heights needed to create a comprehensive park improvement study to inform the development of four individual master plans for local parks. While a well established community, the Falcon Heights lacked the city-owned parks and funding from local taxes. The majority of the land in the area is tax exempt as it is owned by the University of Minnesota and State of Minnesota (fairgrounds).
WSB reviewed the entire park and trail system to determine how to adequately address the recreational needs of the community while respecting budgetary limitations. Through community engagement we were able to gather information from all the stakeholders, prioritize community needs, and deliver four park master plans from conceptual designs to final layouts.
